Cyclone Yasa Fiji Emergency Appeal: Donate Today!

Donate Now!

Tropical Cyclone Yasa made landfall on Thursday 17 December devastating the island of Vanua levu, the second largest island of Fiji.

The severe category 5 Cyclone was carrying wind speeds of up to 240 kilometres per hour. Devastation is set to continue.

ActionAid is on the ground working with local partners to scale up emergency relief to affected communities, as well as resource women to lead community responses.

From our 40 year history, we know that when women lead, communities build back stronger.

Will you make an urgent donation and stand with women facing the devastating impacts of climate change?

More than 1,000 evacuation centres have been prepared across Fiji’s two main islands, and the Government has declared a “State of Natural Disaster” for the next 30 days to respond to the crisis.

Your donation is urgently needed to scale up the response.

How your donation will be spent

As per ActionAid Australia’s emergency fundraising standards, 90% of funds raised from this appeal will go to our emergency response and 10% to fundraising and administration.
In the event that funds raised exceed the amount required, to meet the immediate and longer term needs of the people impacted, ActionAid Australia will direct donations to our Arise Humanitarian Fund, which helps provide disaster preparedness response and recovery for future emergencies.

Other Ways to Give

We work with women and local organisations in over 40 countries to challenge gender inequality. Support our work by making a donation today.
