Mothers in Kenya are struggling to send their children to school because they’re unable to pay school fees.
For decades, farming has been the main source of income for most women in Kenya. Climate change has affected growth of crops, and patriarchal systems have prevented women from finding other ways to earn a living.
In order to provide for their families, women have been left with no choice but to walk long distances in search of food and water, putting them at high risk of sex trafficking and violence.
Women need to be urgently supported with livelihood opportunities so they can safely earn an income and send their children to school.
