Women Driving Change: A Virtual Celebration
Join us on World Humanitarian Day, Thursday 19 August at 5pm for a virtual celebration of women changing the world.
Angela Priestley, founding editor of Women’s Agenda, will facilitate a conversation with two inspiring women leaders about their insights on the global impact of COVID-19 on women’s rights and the roles women have played as part of the response.
Everyday, women are on the frontlines leading their communities through this unprecedented global humanitarian crisis. Let’s celebrate and stand in solidarity with our sisters around the world this World Humanitarian Day.
Meet the speakers:
Dipali Sharma, ActionAid India Director, will share how ActionAid learned from 2020 and responded in 24 states to support the most vulnerable as the devastating second wave took hold.
Natasha Stott-Despoja AO, Arise Ambassador and Australia’s representative to the UN’s Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), will discuss the long-term impacts of COVID on women and the critical solutions needed to get us through recovery.
