While big brands made millions during the pandemic, women are wearing the cost.
With jobs in short supply, women garment workers are forced to endure violence and exploitation at work just to be able to feed their families.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Since joining ActionAid’s Workers Cafe in Bangladesh women like Rahima have learnt about labour laws and their rights and have the confidence to fight for them at work.
Despite the abuse and violence she faced at work, Rahima says “I gained back my confidence to work after I attended the Cafe. Now I want to help other younger women, so they never have to go through what I had faced.”
Will you pledge the cost of your last purchase to support women fighting for their rights at work?
