In 2022, we supported almost 300,000 women in 16 countries to claim their rights and stand up against injustice. We strengthened women’s access to the resources, trainings, and technology they need to push forward their own priorities and build community resilience to intersecting crises. We invested in women’s leadership, and amplified the voices and demands of women from the Global South at the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction and COP27.
Closer to home, we continued to grow the movement of Australians, who are standing in solidarity with women on the frontlines of injustice. ActionAid campaigners amplified the demands of women garment workers in Bangladesh and Cambodia for fashion brands to put the safety of garment workers first, and we succeeded in pushing Mosaic Brands – owners of Rivers, Millers and Katies – to sign the International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry.
Together we achieved extraordinary change for women’s rights.
