Arise turns traditional crisis response on its head by putting women at the heart of the response.
Despite being disproportionately impacted by disasters, women’s leadership in times of crisis still goes unrecognised and under resourced. And yet, when disasters strike, women are the first to take action, often putting their lives on the line to protect others.
We can turn a crisis into an opportunity by supporting women to lead. When a woman is placed at the centre of emergency response, she rebuilds more than just buildings. She builds resilience for herself and her community, the capability to defend her rights, and leadership skills that last a lifetime.
So far we have raised over $2.9 million, which has directly supported the leadership of 22,716 women in 15 countries. Together these inspiring women have impacted 174,731 lives affected by crisis – and we’re only getting started.
