Connecting with the Generation Equality Women, Peace Security and Humanitarian Action Compact

From Labasa, Fiji to Apia, Samoa, the Autonomous Region of Bougainville to Nukualofa, Tonga and Port Vila, Vanuatu supported by Coalition team members in Suva and Sydney Shifting the Power Coalition partners have been hosting Generation Equality Forum “On the Mat” session supported by NGOCSW/NY.

Inter-generational conversations with diverse young women, women leaders from the disability rights and faith communities, peace builders and traditional leaders were provided with a space to talk, write and share reflections and recommendations on local actions that must be part of the global peace, security and humanitarian action agenda.

Our Technical Adviser, Sharon Bhagwan Rolls is a member of a multi-stakeholder taskforce, which includes the Governments of Mexico and France, civil society and UN Women and has been guiding the development of the Generation Equality Forum WPS & Humanitarian Action Compact launched in October.

The Feminist Humanitarian Network is a member of the Compact Board and Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict is a Catalytic member of the Compact, and STPC members are actively engaged in both networks.
