A wake-up call on climate change
This year has been a wake up call on climate change. We have seen a horrific disaster unfold in Nepal and Tibet, scientists warn of overshooting 1.5 degrees, and a strong El Niño on the horizon.
But alongside this, Australia is President of Negotiations at COP31, the UN climate talks. This means the Government has the chance – and the responsibility – to push global ambition, drive the transition away from fossil fuels and provide the climate finance that developing countries need.
Let’s show the Government that real Australians want to see them lead on climate.
We have three simple asks:
1. End fossil fuels: Australia must stop approving new coal, oil and gas projects that are making climate change worse
2. Climate finance now: Australia must commit to paying our fair share of climate finance for developing countries
3. Make Big Polluters Pay: Australia must stop spending $14.5 billion per year on fossil fuel subsidies and make big polluting companies pay for their climate damage
Send us your photo, so we can share it with a simple message: Australians want to see climate action, and they want to see it now.
