Melbourne clothes swap party for women's rights
Have you ever wondered what you can do to support women in low income countries in their fight for better working conditions? Now’s your chance – clean out your wardrobe and come along to our clothes swap!
ActionAid Australia is launching a new campaign to Transform Trade for Women, and we’re kicking things off in Melbourne with a clothes swap to put the spotlight on the fast fashion industry.
Join us at the Industrial School in Abbotsford Convent on Saturday the 22nd of June from 11am -2pm to find some pre-loved treasures while learning more about how free trade deals are impacting women’s rights in sectors like garment manufacturing.
Please pre-drop your clothes at 10.30am with doors to open at 11.00am – women’s, men’s and kid’s clothes are all welcome. Once you’ve found your new wardrobe, stick around for some music, plus some delicious snacks from Lentil as Anything by donation.
If you’ve recently cleaned out your wardrobe and don’t have anything to swap, you can still participate with a donation.
Key details:
- When: Saturday 22 June, 11am – 2pm
- Where: Industrial School, Abbotsford Convent at 1 St Heliers St, Abbotsford
