Webinar: Afghanistan Emergency Update
Get the latest on the humanitarian crisis and find out how ActionAid is responding to this emergency.
Climate change, decades of conflict and the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic have left 14 million people in Afghanistan experiencing food insecurity. Since May, hundreds of thousands of people – the majority of whom are women and children – have fled their homes and are now in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
As the humanitarian crisis deepens, Australia must not turn its back on the people of Afghanistan.
Join ActionAid Executive Director, Michelle Higelin and Head of Programs, Sally Henderson for this special update to hear how ActionAid is supporting people in Afghanistan right now and actively engaging for equal rights and safety for female aid workers.
Learn about how we are working with local partners to respond to the impacts of climate change and COVID-19 and our immediate plans to reach 35,000 people with emergency food, shelter and safe water, as well as hygiene kits and protection for women and girls.
