#MeToo revealed that women’s experience of violence and harassment is extremely widespread. Globally, it is a reality for 818 million women. We know there’s a problem, and it’s time to do something about it.

Yet currently, only a few countries have effective laws and policies to prevent, address and remedy gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work. There is a chance now to change that.

From 10 to 21 June 2019, governments, employers and trade unions will negotiate an international law on ending violence and harassment in the world of work at the centenary International Labour Conference in Geneva.  Support from the Australian Government is critical!

That’s why we’re asking the Australian Government to support the adoption of this new international law: an effective ILO Convention and Recommendation on gender-based violence in the world of work.
